Abdul Aleem Khan
Abdul Aleem Khan embarked on his political career in 2002, securing a seat in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from Constituency PP-147. His leadership, administrative ability, and forward-looking vision led to his induction into the Punjab Cabinet as the Provincial Minister for Information Technology, a position he served with distinction until 2007. In February 2013, he was elected president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lahore, reflecting his growing influence and commitment to public service. His political stature continued to rise, and in July 2016 he was appointed President of PTI Central Punjab, where he played a vital role in strengthening the party’s organizational structure. In the 2018 general elections, Abdul Aleem Khan won the Provincial Assembly seat from Constituency Lahore-XV. On August 27, 2018, he rejoined the Punjab Cabinet as Minister for Local Government and Community Development, later being elevated to the position of Senior Minister. From 2020 to 2021, he served as Punjab’s Minister for Food, where he focused on governance reforms and ensuring food security measures. In 2023, Abdul Aleem Khan assumed a pivotal national role as the President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), a political movement established to introduce progressive, people-centered reforms and promote responsible governance across Pakistan. Continuing his political journey, he was elected to the National Assembly from Constituency NA-117 (Lahore) in the 2024 general elections. Under the current federal administration, he serves as the Federal Minister for Privatization, with additional responsibilities for the Board of Investment (BOI) and Communication, where he continues to contribute actively to Pakistan’s economic advancement, institutional modernization, and national development.
